SONGS TO GET READY TO

FEATURED TRACK:

Shader - There Was a Time

Catchy track from 4 piece Shader, heralding from North Staffs & Cheshire.  Having recently played on the Shaun Ryder Q&A, they also did a great cover of the Happy Monday's track Kinky Afro which went down an absolute storm.  Immensely talened.  Click here to follow them on Facebook

The Blamphins - Jack & Jill 14/06/19

Following on from their first release 'Brother', The Blamphins deliver an equally impressive second track entitled 'Jack & Jill'. A mellow, heartfelt ballad featuring a beautiful acoustic riff and lyrics referencing 'fake tan pretties' and even a nod to Eastenders' 'Peggy without Phil'. A love song about having it all. And this track certainly has it all. Stefan's vocal as emotive as ever, delicately and ever so cooly reminding you that 'it means nothing without love'. Expertly produced by Andreas Hutter and Nina Wittmann at Stateline Recordz and the video was shot on location in Austria. The band consist of Stefan Smith on vocals and lead guitar, Isaac Needham on Drums & Marco Bijilic on Bass. Hailing from Manchester and Stoke, the band continue to enjoy success and take European festivals by storm. Check the video out here and look out for their UK Tour. Fontaines DC –  Boys in The Better Land 10/04/19

Great new 5 piece band from Dublin (the DC bit stands for Dublin City). Fontaines DC will not disappoint.  The irish accent can be heard in the lyrics and is reminiscent of Shane MacGowan in The Pogues.  This track will have you signing the lyrics all day as it's hugely catchy.  Catch them on their tour if you can, these are going ot be huge.

Spinner –  EP 05/10/18

Track 1 of Spinner’s new EP 'My New Face' has a psychedelic edge, transporting me back to the 90's with a vocal which floats around in an ethereal manner, sounding very shoe gaze. The second track, 'Wishing Well' has a more rock n roll vibe. The vocals have a gritty resonance comparable to Tom Meighan and the lyrical escapism “would you care if I took you away for a day or two?” makes you want to board the next train and squeeze in some day drinking. Track 3 'Rise' has a similar psychedelic vibe to it, taking me back to classic indie anthems from the likes of Cast and Kula Shaker. 'Setting Sun' continues the mellow 60's vibe to complete the record and echoes the lyrics 'get into my brain'.  This EP will certainly do that. On repeat all day here at Songbyrd HQ.

Liam Gallagher –  Once

Great new track from LG, an absolute must hear track with nostalgic lyrics that we can all relate to.
